Welcome,

What

The Autumn Society is a weekly reflection club for young adults who aren’t unwell, but aren’t totally okay either.
We meet in person. We write stuff down. We make sense of things — slowly, properly, without needing to have it all figured out.

Why

Because no one taught us how to feel.
Because life moves too fast and we don’t.
Because school skipped emotional skills.
Because talking feels like too much, and doing nothing feels worse.
Because understanding yourself isn’t a breakthrough — it’s a habit.

How

You show up. You get a cup of tea.
You sit down with pen and paper.
We give you a set of simple prompts. You reflect on your week — privately, no pressure to share.
Afterwards, you hang out (or leave quietly, that’s fine too).

40 minutes.
No apps. No therapy talk. Just a simple routine, once a week.

Who

People like you.
18–25-ish. Emotionally aware but kind of stuck.
Overthinkers, under-sharers, recovering perfectionists.
People who want something real.
Not a mess. Just figuring it out.

Who's behind this

We’re John and Tom — two product designers who studied together at NCAD
The Autumn Society began as a passion project — a response to how little space there is to slow down and make sense of things.
We believe understanding emotions is a skill — one that should be simple, social, and part of everyday life, not something you only seek when things fall apart.
Tom is now developing The Autumn Society as a way to put those ideas into action.
John continues to support the ideas behind it with feedback and lived experience.

Feedback

Some feedback from participants:

What are we doing right now?

We’re looking for a space.

Nothing fancy. Just somewhere quiet where a small group can sit down, write, and not feel weird about it.
If you know a place — or know someone who might — we’d love to hear from you.
We’re open. To spaces, to ideas, to seeing what works.

Thanks for reading this far.
